As the construction of new homes at North Stoneham Park continues on schedule and more residents take up occupation, the Park’s developer, Highwood, has confirmed that the local centre is now officially in the pre-application stage.
The application will be put before Eastleigh Borough Council’s Planning Committee at their meeting on 7th March when a decision will be made on the consent for a range of buildings that make up the Park’s new local community centre and which sits at the heart of the wider development.
Subject to local authority approval, the plans include provision for a new community centre, a prestigious office building, a convenience store and a nursery. Early interest from prospective occupiers has indicated that a new gym, coffee shop and other retail outlets may well form part of the final scheme.
The office building, which extends to 35,000 sq.ft. has already attracted interest from a number of businesses looking for a super headquarters building in an easily accessible location. Any enquiries from prospective corporate tenants should be addressed to Lambert Smith Hampton’s Southampton office on 023 8033 0041. The building can be ready for occupation from as early as 2020 and committing early will ensure construction can accommodate the new occupants design requirements, subject to approvals.
Organisations who are interested in letting any of the commercial, retail or community spaces are advised to contact Lambert Smith Hampton on the above number at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, all eyes are on Eastleigh Borough Council and its Planning Committee as they deliberate over this next exciting stage in North Stoneham Park’s community development.
If Eastleigh Borough Council backs Highwood’s scheme, construction on the local centre will begin in the final quarter of 2019 with completion anticipated to take place six months later.
